Why instant gratification is so important to some of us? Our brain creates mental simulations for something which we don’t have and want to experience right now.

We can be selfish, generous or impulsive. Different configurations of neurons fight it out like rival parties to decide the state of the mind.

Our brain is like a neural parliament.

Signals are picked by our sensors eyes, ears & nose and then converted to electrical signals for our brain to comprehend. There is no color, no sound, no odor in the outside world. By the time we think the moment occurs, it’s already long gone. Body collects the signals from all the sensors first so that everything seems synchronized to us.

We always live in the past, literally yes.

Time isn’t the reason why our memory fades, but the other newer memories need to establish new connections among finite number of neurons present and hence the reason why old memories fade.

At birth, a baby can hear and respond to all the sounds in different languages but through time the language we are exposed to takes over the ability and worsens the capacity to comprehend the sounds of other languages. We become what we are not because of what grows in our brain but because of what is removed.Everyday with new experiences, the patterns in our neural networks change and so we are a different person every day, quite literally. As we grow up, brain picks up from our experiences. Our brain unlike other animals isn’t hardwired at birth but is live-wired.
